When should you be concerned with thigh pain?

A person should be concerned with a pain in the thigh if the pain shoots down the buttocks, through the thigh and down the leg, according to Cleveland Clinic. This may be the sign of a herniated disc or sciatica, says Spine-health.
The individual should also see the doctor if the thigh hurts during or after walking and if the pain worsens, according to Mayo Clinic. An individual should seek medical attention if home remedies to improve the pain don't work. A deep cut or a break, especially one that exposes the bone or tendons, is a medical emergency. A person must also seek medical help if the pain in the thigh makes walking impossible.
