When should you transplant chicks from hen plants?

Transplant chicks from hen plants at any point throughout the year or after the hen plant flowers and dies. Carefully pull chicks from the hen, place them separately into shallow holes of sandy soil, and extend the roots by spreading them out.
When transplanting, completely conceal the roots, and cover the plants up to their crowns with soil. After transplanting the chicks, sprinkle a small amount of water on the plants.
Do not water these plants every day, as this can cause the crowns to rot or a fungal disease to grow. Wait until the roots dry out between each watering.
