What should you wear to a job interview?

Appropriate interview attire is somewhat dependent on if one is interviewing for a professional, casual or startup company. For a professional company, both men and women should wear a suit in a solid color such as black, navy or dark grey.

For a more casual business, men should wear khaki, cotton or gabardine pants with either a cotton long-sleeved button-down shirt, polo shirt or collared knit shirt. Ties are optional. Women should wear khaki, corduroy, cotton or twill pants or skirts with knit shirts, cardigans or twin sets. Sweaters are also an option for both men and women. It is not appropriate to wear flip-flops, sneakers, ripped jeans or old T-shirts to a job interview.
