How do you shut down Windows 8?

Windows 8 can be shut down by moving the mouse pointer to the lower right corner of the screen, clicking on settings in the menu that appears, clicking on the power button in the next menu and selecting Shut Down. This takes only a few seconds.

1. Move mouse pointer to bottom right of screen

   Move the pointer to the bottom right corner of the screen. In case of a touch screen device, swipe near the right side edge of the screen. A menu should appear.

2. Click on Settings

   In the menu that appears, click on the button that says Settings.

3. Click on Power button

   After clicking the Settings button, another menu appears. Click on the Power button near the bottom.

4. Select Shut Down

   Upon clicking Power, three options pop up. Click on Shut Down.
