Siberian Huskies are a breed of thick-coated dogs originally bred in Northeast Asia as sled dogs. Siberian Huskies typically have black and white fur, but some dogs have shades of copper and blond in their coats.
Formally recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1930, the Siberian Husky is a popular dog at professional shows and in American homes. The dog ranges between 35 and 60 pounds, with heights varying between 20 and 24 inches. A typical lifespan for this breed is between 12 and 14 years. A pack dog by nature, the Siberian Husky thrives among people and can be very good with children.
