The Green Vibrance nutritional supplement from Vibrant Health may contain high levels of arsenic, reports Prevention Magazine. Arsenic is a known carcinogen, and it may also cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, muscle weakness and bruising from damaged blood vessels, states the American Cancer Society.
In 2013, an independent lab found 24 micrograms of arsenic in a 0.4-ounce serving of Green Vibrance, according to Prevention Magazine. The Environmental Protection Agency recommends no more than 10 micrograms of arsenic per 34 ounces of a food or liquid. Tests on hair, fingernails, blood and urine can detect arsenic levels in a person's body, explains the American Cancer Society.
