Signs of teething include drooling, irritability, swollen gums, ear grabbing and difficulty sleeping. Other symptoms include face rubbing, refusing food, attempting to bite, chewing and sucking, and visible teeth below the gum, according to Baby Center.
Infant teeth usually emerge in pairs. The middle two bottom teeth normally come first, with the top two arriving a month later. Children normally have all of their baby teeth by age 2, states Parenting.com.
Massaging the teething area with a clean finger, using pain-relievers such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen, and using distraction are ways to help deal with the pains of teething, according to Parenting.com.
