To create Sisterlocks, a special tool that creates grid-shaped parts in the hair and a twisting device that shapes the hair into locks are used. Sisterlocks are considerably thinner than traditional dreadlocks and can be styled in a number of ways, including up-dos and French rolls. Sisterlocks is a trademarked company, and the hair can only be installed by stylists who have been Sisterlocks-certified.
