What is the size of respirable suspended particulate matter or RSPM?

The Environmental Protection Department of the Hong Kong government defines the respirable suspended particulate matter (RSPM) as particulate matter, suspended in the air, with the size of 10 microns or less. According to a MIT study, cited by the India Today, RSPM is regarded as a danger to health.

According to Christopher Loans, a chemical engineer at Environmental XPRT, SPM refers to suspended particulate matter having the aerodynamic size of up to 100 microns, while India Daily notes that RSPM, also called PM10, refers to particles having a size between 0.5 to 10 microns.

According to India Daily, premature death and asthma are just a couple of health issues, caused by PM10 air pollutants.
