The standard tire size for a 15 x 7 rim is 205/65R-15. However, wider tires with larger tires can fit, according to the amount of space available on the chassis of the vehicle.

When fitting a tire on a wheel, the backspacing, or the distance from the wheel to the hub, needs to be measured. The resulting backspace distance will then allow the user to figure out the maximum tire width that fits on the car's chassis.

Tires are measured using three characters. The first number states the width of the tire in millimeters. The second number is used to explain the height of the sidewall. The third number is used for the diameter of the bead, which is described in inches.
