Where do slugs live?
By Forinfos - 13/05/2026 - 0 comments
Slugs live in decaying plants, mulch, weeds and yard waste. Slugs also choose moist areas that are created when plants receive watering or rain in the late afternoon.
Plants that are placed closely together are more likely to attract slugs because the soil does not receive enough air or sunlight to stay dry. Slugs are highly attracted to hosta plants, but they avoid rhododendrons and evergreens with hard leaves. No matter where slugs live, their strong sense of smell drives them to travel throughout the surrounding area in search of their favorite foods, which include fallen fruit and plants that have leaves close to the ground.
