The best four-cylinder small trucks available for the 2015 model year are the Toyota Tacoma, Nissan Frontier and the Chevrolet Colorado, according to automotive review site CheatSheet. The GMC Canyon is a mechanical twin of the Colorado and is also recommended.

The Toyota Tacoma is the most fuel-efficient four-cylinder truck available for the 2015 model year, consuming one gallon of gas for every 22 miles of combined city and highway driving. Toyota is also considered the second most reliable brand for new cars in 2015, second only to its own Lexus luxury brand. The Nissan Frontier and Chevrolet Colorado both tie in fuel efficiency at 21 miles per gallon combined, but the Colorado or GMC Canyon are the best choices for towing power. These trucks produce 191 foot-pounds of peak torque and can tow up to 3,500 pounds with proper equipment.
