What are snapbacks?

Snapback is a slang term for an adjustable baseball hat with a series of plastic snaps in the back for adjusting the fit. Snapbacks are a less expensive option to the fitted baseball caps worn by professional baseball players.

Snapbacks have a flat brim and a cloth fitted cap made of five or six panels of fabric. Variations include the velcroback, which adjusts with a Velcro strip, and the strapback, which adjusts with a buckle and strap. Snapbacks are available in a wide variety of fabrics, patterns and colors, and are an urban fashion trend among teens and young adults, and in hip-hop culture.
