What is sole fish?

A sole fish is a type of flatfish that lives half-buried in the muddy bottom of the ocean. As an adaptation, both of the fish's eyes are on the topside of its body. These fish are prized for their flesh, with common sole being the most sought after.
As with all flatfish, the sole is born as a normal-looking fry. As it matures, one of its eyes begins to migrate from one side until it's very close to the other eye. The eyes of the common sole are on the right side of its body. The sole eats marine worms and shrimp.
