What sound does a possum make?

Possums tend to make very few sounds; however, babies tend to make a sneezing sound when separated from their mother, and adults tend to make a clicking sound to communicate with one another and to mate, and a low growling or hissing sound when they feel threatened. In general, possums are gentle and docile creatures that prefer avoiding confrontation rather than attacking.

Possums have trademarked their signature escape route. When confronted, they typically flop down onto the ground and lie on one side with their tongue sticking out in order to pretend that they are dead. When the predators are off their guard, the possums will take the opportunity to escape.
