The Spanish explorer who conquered the Inca Empire was Francisco Pizarro in 1532. Pizarro was able to conquer the incredible empire with only 200 men to the Incan's thousands.
Pizarro did this by creating a feast in the Incan emperor's honor, which was really just an elaborate trap. Once he had arrived, Pizarro sent his men on an open fire on all of the horses present. Then, the men ran towards the Incans and killed many while capturing the emperor, who they would kill later. The transition was not smooth and the Incans continued to fight the Spanish colonialists long after the emperor had died.
