"Le Morte d'Arthur" is a work by the English writer Sir Thomas Malory. It is a collection of stories about the legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. The book was completed in 1469 or 1470, and an abridged version was first published in 1485 by William Caxton. It is considered to be the first major fictional work of prose in English and the best-known work of Arthurian literature.
