Who is Dr. Eva Carneiro?

Dr. Eva Carneiro is the first-team doctor for the Chelsea soccer team in Great Britain, as of 2015. The team promoted her from reserves doctor during the 2011-2012 season. She has endured sexist chants from fans of opposing teams such as Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal.

Carneiro studied medicine at Nottingham University, Australasian College of Sports Physicians and London’s Queen Mary University. Prior to joining Chelsea, she worked with athletes for Great Britain in the lead up to the Beijing Olympics and with England's women's soccer team. Additionally, she took part in the UK Sports and Exercise Medicine Specialist training program.
