How do you get a fishing license in Ontario?

To obtain a fishing license in Ontario, you must first purchase a fishing Outdoors Card online or through a participating ServiceOntario center or issuing retailer. A fishing license tag may then be purchased from the same source and must accompany the Outdoors Card whenever you fish.

The fishing license tag can be in the form of a separate document carried with the plastic Outdoors Card or printed on the back. Fishing license tags may be purchased for a period of one or three years and expire on December 31 of the year printed on the tag, while fishing Outdoors Cards are valid for three calendar years.
