As of 2014, Tara Lipinski is 32 years old. She was born on June 10, 1982, in Philadelphia, Penn., the only child of Jack and Patricia Lipinski. She developed her ice figure skating techniques from rolling skating.

At the age of 15, she won the Olympic gold medal for ladies' single figure skating at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan. She became the youngest Olympic gold medalist in ladies’ figure skating in an individual event. In 1997, she became the youngest person, by 32 days, to win a World Championship at the age of 14 years, 9 months and 10 days. In April of 1998, Lipinski turned professional.
