The Texas Longhorns defeated the Oklahoma Sooners 24 to 17 on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015. The Texas-Oklahoma college football game is known as the Red River Showdown and is one of the longest and most storied rivalries in NCAA football, dating back to 1900.

As of January 2016, Texas has the overall advantage in the rivalry with 61 wins, 44 losses and 5 ties. The rivalry has been played at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas, since 1932 because the site is roughly half the distance between the campuses of each college. Each college is given half of the tickets to the game, with each fan base divided at the 50-yard line.
