The melting point of SS400 steel is 1430 degrees Celsius. The DN equivalent for JIS SS400 is 17100 St 44-2; the ASTM equivalents are ASTM A36 and ASTM A283 Grade D; and the EN equivalents are EN S275 and BS 43A. Material Grades states that SS400 steel has a more reliable tensile strength than SS330 steel. The thickness of SS400 steel is between 6 and 20 millimeters.
