St. Jude is the patron saint of desperate causes. Catholics celebrate his feast day on Oct. 28th of each year. He wrote in the New Testament of the Bible that people should rise above hardships and extremely difficult situations.
St. Jude preached to crowds in areas such as Judea, Libya, Syria and Mesopotamia. According to legend, he was martyred in what is now Armenia. Along with Bartholomew, he is a patron saint of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
