Where is St. Maarten?

St. Martin (often called "St. Maarten,") is located in the Caribbean Sea at approximately 18 degrees North and 63 degrees West. It is located at the center of the Antilles Archipelago roughly between the Tropic of Cancer and the Equator, its east side facing the Atlantic Ocean, while its west side faces the Caribbean Sea.

While small in size - the island is 13 kilometers wide and 15 kilometers long and only about 88 square kilometers in area - it is home to two countries. St. Maarten or Sint Maarten also refers to the southern half of the island, a small country within the Dutch kingdom.
