The 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup was manufactured with a standard bed size length of 6 feet 3 inches. Some models also have an 8-foot bed. Both bed lengths were made in the regular and quad-cab models.
The standard bed was shortened from its previous length of 6 feet 6 inches along with other design changes in 2002. In addition to bed length and body style changes, horsepower and torque were increased in the standard 3.7 liter, six-cylinder engine, with 4.7 and 5.9 liter, eight-cylinder engines available as options. A five-speed manual transmission was standard for both models with an overdrive automatic transmission also available.
