What is the starting pay for Starbucks baristas?

As of January 2015, current Starbucks baristas can make between $7.63 and $10.63 per hour. Starbucks has not announced a new starting pay rate for baristas, according to PayScale.

As of January 2015, Starbucks shift managers can earn between $9.12 and $13.44 per hour. An increase in Starbucks wages for new employees and current employees is meant to bring salaries closer to living wages.

Starbucks also offers health benefits and other incentives to its part-time employees. One new benefit, as of 2015, is a program subsidized by Starbucks that provides online college education at Arizona State University to interested employees.
