Texas is the second largest state in the United States; only Alaska is larger in area. Texas is known for its production of oil, but it also produces large amounts of cotton, cereal crops and fruit.
Throughout history, crops in Texas have been harmed by droughts. This has cost the state billions of dollars in crop revitalization efforts and lost revenue due to decreases in exports. Mexico is Texas' largest trading partner.
