Palouse Falls is in Washington State. The Palouse Falls are located on the Palouse River in Palouse Falls State Park, a 105-acre park in Starbuck, Washington.
Palouse Falls lies about four miles upstream of the confluence of the Palouse River and the Snake River.The falls drop from a height of 198 feet. They were formed by glacial floods known as the Missoula Floods during the last Ice Age.
On Feb. 12, 2014, the Washington State House of Representatives voted to make Palouse Falls the official waterfall of Washington State. The falls were originally named Aput Aput, meaning "falling water." The name was later changed to honor the Palouse Indians.
