What state is Seattle in?

The city of Seattle is located on Puget Sound in the state of Washington. It is the largest city in the state, and with a population of more than 652,000, it is the largest city in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States.

The entire Seattle metropolitan area comprises 3.6 million people, making it one of the 20 largest metropolitan areas in the United States. Seattle is located in King County in western Washington and is approximately 113 miles south of the Canadian border. Logging was Seattle's first major industry, but this was overtaken by aircraft manufacturing around the time of World War II. Beginning in the 1980s, Seattle became a major technology center.
