What states sell the most convertibles?

The three states that consistently sell the most convertibles are Florida, California and New Jersey, according to both CarandDriver.com and TRUECar.com. Other states that have, at times, had high numbers of convertibles registered are Hawaii, Nevada, Texas and New York.

CarandDriver.com shows a positive correlation between a state's average temperatures and convertible ownership. In 2012, over 2 percent of Florida's registered vehicles were convertibles, and the average temperature was 77 degrees Fahrenheit. TRUECar.com claims that convertible ownership is influenced by living in coastal areas. In 2011, coastal states like New Jersey, California and Texas were in the top five for convertible registration.
