Where was Steven Seagal born and raised?

Steven Frederic Seagal was born on April 10, 1952. He was raised in Lansing, Michigan, until the age of 5, when his family moved to Fullerton, California. His father Samuel was a math teacher, and his mother Patricia was a medical technician.

Seagal attended Buena Park High School in Buena Park, California. He began training in aikido at around the age of 7 under the guidance of Rod Kobayashi. He moved to Japan as a teenager, attained a 7th-dan degree in aikido and became the first foreigner to run a dojo in Japan. Seagal returned to the United States in 1974.
