What is stick welding?
By Forinfos - 20/05/2026 - 0 comments
Stick welding is a welding process that uses electric current and an electrode to form an electric arc that joins different metals. The electric arc melts the electrode and the metal, forming a joint.
An electrode is typically a solid metal rod covered with mineral compounds and metal powder mixed with binding agents. The covering provides arc stability. Different types and sizes of stick welding determine the arc voltage and the electric current to use, either direct or alternating current. The advantages of stick welding include the ability to be used in areas with limited access, less sensitivity to the wind, and inexpensive and portable equipment.
