Will the stickers peel off a Rubik's Cube?

The stickers on the surface of a Rubik's cube may peel off either as a result of the regular wear and tear, or a frustrated solver may resort to peeling them off deliberately. Cubes with sides made of colorful plastic without stickers prevent this problem.

The original cubes, made in the 1980s, have stickers made from vinyl. Today, Rubik's cubes usually have paper stickers that may start to peel off after a month of use. However, it is possible to purchase replacement stickers for cubes of various sizes. Replacement stickers are also available in non-traditional designs, such as sudoku puzzle stickers or stickers with a maze.
