Websites such as Yahoo Finance and Marketwatch provide online stock quotes. The Yahoo Finance home page has a field where the user can enter the stock symbol and receive up-to-date information about performance of the shares.

Information available about the stocks includes the most recent price, the last daily volume of the stock in shares, the day's high and low, the 52-week high and low, and a graph indicating the performance of the stock in comparison to market indexes. Such information as market capitalization, price-to-earnings ratio, earnings per share, dividend yield, dividend date, average volume and, if applicable, dividend appear as well, according to Marketwatch.
