What style of table works best for a narrow hallway?

A small console table in a rectangular or semicircle shape works best in a narrow hallway. To allow for adequate walking room, a console table should be less than 12 inches deep, depending on the size of the hallway.

As of 2015, CB2 offers several small console tables. This includes one model that is just 8 inches deep and another that is 10 inches deep. Target also sells several options, including some semicircle-shaped tables that take up less space than rectangular ones.

As an alternative to a console table, a narrow ledge mounted in a hallway serves the same purpose as a table while using less space. Ikea offers many space-efficient options.
