Does the sun give off vitamin C?
By Forinfos - 17/03/2026 - 0 comments
The sun does not give off vitamin C. However, exposing the bare skin to sunlight helps in acquiring vitamin D. The sun itself does not provide vitamin D but instead facilitates its production.
The amount of vitamin D that the body produces when exposed to sunlight depends on a number of factors, which are the time of day, the geographical location, the skin color and the amount of skin exposed. The skin produces more of this vitamin when exposed at midday, when the location is closer to the equator, when the skin is paler in color and when more skin is exposed.
