What is surgical glue?

Surgical glue is a special type of medical adhesive that is used to join the edges of an incision following surgery. Typically, it is used after laparoscopic procedures, vasectomies, benign skin lesion removal and incision of the groin following hernia operations.
Generally, surgical skin glue can be used on the arms, legs, trunk or torso, as well as the head and face. It is sometimes used on the joints, but this may not be feasible if the joint is one that is often put under pressure during movement. It is also not a practical option for closing wounds inside the mouth, lips or armpit.
