What is a Sweet 100 tomato?

The Sweet 100 tomato is a hybrid cherry variety developed by the Northrup-King Seed Company. Sweet 100 tomato vines, growing up to 5 to 10 feet in length, produce hundreds of 1-inch, sweet, cherry-red fruits during the growing season.

Sweet 100 tomatoes, which mature within 70 days of planting, require full sun and lots of room to stretch, performing best when caged or grown on a trellis system. Sweet 100s, due to their size, do not grow well in containers. Resistant to Verticillium wilt and Fusarium wilt, this hybrid has spawned several variations since its release, including Peacevine, Rideau Sweet and the Super Sweet 100.
