Common Chrismons or Christ monogram ornaments include monograms of Jesus Christ's name, fish, crosses and stars. The Chrismon tree itself symbolize everlasting life, while tiny lights represent Jesus.
Besides the first letters of "Jesus" and "Christ," monograms may be Greek characters and numbers that represent them, such as IET or 318. Other symbols include the Celtic cross, Maltese cross, fish and dove. The Celtic cross is a cross with a circle in the center, which stands for the sun and Jesus. Chrismons are white and gold or silver and gold. Lutherans invented Chrismon trees and decorate them with homemade objects, because they believe no one should sell Chrismons.
