What is symmetric matrix?
By Forinfos - 11/11/2025 - 0 comments
A symmetric matrix comes from linear algebra and is a square matrix that is symmetrical to the main diagonal, which is the connecting line running from the top left to the bottom right. The diagonal functions as a mirror line as the line of symmetry.
When a transpose is created of a symmetric matrix, it produces an identical matrix, so a symmetric matrix equals the transpose produced. Transposes are found by interchanging the rows and columns of a matrix. For instance, if you have three rows and three columns, the first row will be the first column, the second row will form the second column and the third row forms the third column in the resulting transpose.
