Some symptoms associated with glaucoma include blurred or hazy vision, the formation of rainbow-colored rings around bright lights, severe head and eye pain, and sudden loss of sight, according to the Glaucoma Research Foundation. Nausea and vomiting sometimes accompany the severe head pain.
There are two main types of glaucoma: primary open-angle glaucoma and angle-closure glaucoma, states the Glaucoma Research Foundation. The above symptoms are associated with angle-closure glaucoma only. Primary open-angle glaucoma typically produces no symptoms until the disease has reached an advanced state when sudden vision loss can occur. Therefore, it is important to visit an eye doctor for regular check-ups.
