Classic red streaks appear in body creases, particularly in the region of the elbows and armpits, explains KidsHealth. Upon application of pressure, the rash turns white. The rash often feels like sandpaper, as stated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The rash normally fades within a week, but skin peeling may occur on the toes and fingers and in the groin area for a few weeks.
