Where does the synthesis of lipids occur?

Synthesis of lipids takes place at the smooth endoplasmic reticulum. ER, or endoplasmic reticulum, refers to a network of sacs and membrane-enclosed tubules that starts from the nuclear's membrane all through the cytoplasm.
The ER, which is wholly enclosed by an unbroken membrane, is an eukaryotic cell's biggest organelle. It can be found in animals and plants. ER can be divided into smooth and rough types. The rough ER is instrumental in protein folding, certain proteins' production and other activities. It is called rough because of its outer surface's ribosomes. The smooth type, which is instrumental in fats or lipids metabolism, lipids and steroid hormone production, does not have any ribosomes.
