As of 2015, to get T-Mobile's $30 prepaid plan, you must first purchase a compatible device from T-Mobile's official website or an authorized retailer and then activate it. Activation includes programming your new phone by entering its serial numbers and then setting up your account with your personal information.

After you set up your phone, you have the choice to select which plan you want, including the $30 prepaid option. After reviewing your new account information, you then fund your account to pay for your first month's use on the new $30 plan. This prepaid plan includes 100 minutes of talk time, unlimited text messaging and Internet use with speeds up to 4G.
