Tag Away is marketed as a homeopathic remedy to remove skin tags. However, there is insufficient evidence to support the claims of its efficacy, explains Harriet Hall for Science-Based Medicine.
The main active ingredient in Tag Away is Thuja occidentalis, reports Hall. This essential oil has been used as a home remedy to treat various ailments including warts, ringworm and thrush. However, there is no scientific evidence to support the effectiveness of its use. The amount of Thuja occidentalis present in Tag Away is one part per million parts of water. Scientific evidence has not supported the effectiveness of undiluted Thuja occidentalis.
