How tall was Genghis Khan?

There is no definitive account of Ghengis Khan's height. Descriptions simply describe him as tall. Tall is likely relevant, however. The average height of man during the time in which Ghengis Khan lived was just under 5 foot 7 inches, so anyone taller than this average could be considered tall.

There are no existing firsthand descriptions of Ghengis Khan's appearance in general. Nor are there any existing paintings, sculptures or drawings that depict him, so very little is known about his personal appearance. There are even accounts that he had red hair and green eyes. It also is not known how he died or where he was laid to rest.
