Do tall people make more money?

Studies have found that taller people generally have higher salaries than their shorter counterparts. In Western countries, there is a 9-15% jump in salary between the 25th and 75th height percentile. Another study suggests an additional $800 per inch, per year in earnings.
Researchers found the largest increase in earnings among men was between 5'4" and 5'6". They found that the effect of height began to level out around 6'0". This may be because taller children were unconsciously treated better and developed better social skills and self confidence, which has been known to help on the job. Taller people also report being more satisfied with work and their lives in general.
