How tall is Pike's Peak?

Pikes Peak, located in Cascade, Colorado, is 14,115 feet tall. It is the 31st-highest mountain in Colorado, but it is the most famous, with more than 500,000 people reaching the summit every year.

Pikes Peak was named for Lieutenant Zebulon Montgomery Pike, an explorer who first saw the great mountain in 1806. In 1820, Edwin James was the first person to climb all the way to the top, and by the mid-1800s, there was a well-established trail that led to the summit. Pikes Peak became the symbol of the 1859 Colorado Gold Rush when pioneers and explorers coined the phrase "Pikes Peak or Bust."
