While there are many species of tigers, the average adult tiger is 3 to 3.5 feet tall at the shoulders. Tigers' body length ranges from 4.6 to 9.2 feet.
Tigers are the largest members of the cat family and the largest subspecies, the Siberian tiger, can weigh up to 675 pounds. Tigers survive off of a diet of ambar deer, water buffalo, antelope and wild pigs. Due to poaching and the loss of their natural environment, they are an endangered species. There were around 100,000 wild tigers across the world in the early 1900s, but only 3,000 to 4,500 exist in the wild today.
