How do you tame frizzy hair?

To tame frizzy hair, use gentle shampoos and heavy conditioners. Apply hair serum, and blow dry with a diffuser attachment or by pointing the nozzle down the hair shaft. Once the hair dries, use water and conditioner to tame the frizz.
- Use gentle shampoo
Use a gentle shampoo, and wash the hair just twice a week to avoid stripping away the natural oils. Sulfate-free shampoos work best.
- Condition the hair regularly
Alternate between protein-infused conditioner and moisturizing conditioner. Comb conditioner through the hair every time you wet it, even if you don't shampoo. Leave in the conditioner for a few minutes, and rinse with cold water.
- Blot the hair dry
After showering, use an absorbent towel to squeeze excess moisture out of the hair. Avoid rubbing the hair as this roughs up the cuticle, promoting frizz.
- Use hair serum
Emulsify a small amount of silicone serum in your hands, and apply it to the hair, starting at the ends. Alternatively, use natural hair oils such as argan-based ones.
- Blow the hair dry
To enhance natural curls, use a diffuser attachment on your blow dryer. Squeeze the hair in your palm as you aim the diffuser up the hair. If drying hair straight, aim the nozzle down the shaft, and use a natural bristle brush to distribute the oils.
- Comb with wet fingers
Don't use a brush after drying your hair. Instead, wet your fingers, and gently comb through the hair. If the ends get frizzy, add a drop of conditioner to the water, and squeeze it into the ends of your hair.
